FADBB / Festival de Arte y Diseño del Barrio del Boquerón
2023

A neighbourhood art and design festival co-organised with Maneiras Café in Granada. I designed its identity and a poster system made to be intervened by hand.
FADBB was a neighbourhood festival of art and design co-organised in 2023 with Maneiras Café, then based at Mano de Hierro 15 in Granada’s Boquerón district. Murals, exhibitions and workshops moved between the café, nearby businesses and the surrounding streets. I created the festival’s visual identity and graphic material.
The posters worked as canvases. Their printed framework left an open area for hand intervention, so individual copies could be painted or drawn on before being placed around the neighbourhood.

The same type, colour and drawn gestures extended to the festival’s social graphics, tying the printed posters to the places and people involved.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD Painting moved from the poster to shutters and walls around Boquerón. These images document the collective work taking shape in the street.

INSIDE MANEIRAS The café became a meeting point for exhibitions, conversations and graphic work. The festival also brought together artists, neighbours and visitors through a programme of open workshops.

WORKSHOPS The programme invited people to make as well as look: poster design, lettering, screen printing, character design, crochet and autobiographical comics were among the activities.

IN THE PRESS The festival and the murals also appeared in Granada’s local press.

Festival co-organised by Bigotesucio and Maneiras Café. Visual identity, poster system and graphic design: Bigotesucio. Poster illustrations: Sasa Estudio, Pablo Torralba and Bigotesucio. Murals, exhibitions and workshops: participating artists.
